Jump Start Your Yoga!  Beginners immersion weekend August 26-28th

Friday 6-8pm, Saturday 2-5pm & Sunday 3-5pm.
Introduction to yoga philosophy, yoga asana (postures) and yogic breathing
– For those new to yoga
– Anyone wishing to reignite their yoga practice

Over three sessions we will build up a strong and complete foundation, essential for anyone wishing to develop a yoga practice.

FRIDAY AUGUST 28th 6-8pm: Introduction, Yogic Breathing, anatomy of the breath, using it to facilitate the body’s opening, each pose of the Sun Salutation deconstructed, seated forward bends, final relaxation.

SATURDAY AUGUST 27th 2-5pm: Recap Sun Salutations, core standing postures, seated postures, simple back bends, basic breathing exercises and relaxation techniques.

SUNDAY AUGUST 28th 3-5pm: Additional detailed explanation, alignment precision on sun salutations, standing postures, seated forward bends, twists, hip openers and relaxation.  Next steps to developing a yoga practice….

About the teacher: Jessica Blanchard is one of a small group to receive the Level 2 Authorization from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois to teach the Ashtanga Yoga method.  Over 10 years and 8 trips to India, she has studied yoga postures, philosophy, breathing and diet.  Co-owner of Balance Yoga and Wellness studio, she teaches locally and travels internationally to Asia and Europe to teach each summer. Her down-to-earth teaching style combined with her years of study in India infuse her teaching with both authenticity and warmth.
