GET TO KNOW THE TEACHERS OF BALANCE YOGA
I am a graduate of Balance Yoga & Wellness' 200-hour teacher training program. I also have certifications in prenatal yoga from the Yoga Education Institute. Off the mat, I'm a certified doula, childbirth educator and Registered Veterinary Technician.
Being a larger bodied Puerto Rican woman, my inspiration for yoga has always been anyone who doesn't inhabit a "typical yoga body" who puts themselves out there. Representation matters and we need more variation of body types in yoga.
My yoga practice gives me a deep connection and relationship with my body and breath that I didn't know I had. I love the nourishment that I get from asana and pranayama. It's a huge part of not just my physical wellbeing, but my mental and spiritual wellbeing.
I want to help cultivate the reality that yoga is for everybody. I would have never gotten on the mat for the first time back in 2012 if I hadn't seen someone that looked like me doing it first. Yoga is fun, yoga is experimental, yoga is creative, yoga is for every body.
