Yoga is 99% Practice, 1% Theory ~Sri K. Pattabhi Jois
Ashtanga is a living yoga tradition, passed down through the lineage of Sri K Pattabhi Jois to his students. When you study Ashtanga, you tap into the roots of yoga. You'll then learn how yoga can improve all aspects of your life off the mat.
Most modern styles of vinyasa evolved out of Ashtanga yoga, the first dynamic form of yoga taught in the west. Ashtanga is accessible to anyone, you only need a little curiosity.
Balance yoga offers two main types of classes in its Ashtanga Program: Ashtanga Led and Ashtanga Mysore. While Ashtanga Mysore is open to beginners, we find that new students feel more comfortable in Mysore after they've attended a few Intro or Led classes.
